The Illinois Water Resource Center is now accepting abstracts for the 2016 Illinois Water Conference, held October 25-27 at the Illini Union on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. To submit an abstract for an oral presentation or student poster, complete the online form by Monday, March 28. You will be notified regarding the status of your abstract by April 25.
For over 15 years, this biennial conference has brought together agency personnel, academics, students, educators, and community members from across the state to discuss the latest research on issues affecting Illinois water resources and systems.
A specific call is issued for abstracts that fit within one of the session topics below. However, you may also submit under the Open category, from which we will develop additional sessions.
- State of Illinois water resources
- Nutrient loss reduction
- Addressing nutrient-related water quality issues in Illinois
- Groundwater data collection, analysis, and stakeholder uses
- Conservation buffers
- Regional water supply planning
Sessions will be scheduled concurrently in 60-minute periods. Each sessions will include 2-4 presentations with time for questions and discussions after each presentation.
Student posters will be presented and judged during an evening reception on October 26. Scholarships are available for students interested in sharing a poster. To apply, complete the scholarship application by September 2.
