Annual Small Grants

The Illinois Water Resources Center awards roughly $40,000 to university-based researchers throughout the state each year. These funds are used to help understand, conserve, and communicate the importance of our state’s water resources.

National Competitive Grants

The National Competitive Grants Program funds projects that address significant, regional water resources issues and promote collaboration between universities and the U.S. Geological Survey. Illinois researchers have been awarded seven of these highly-competitive grants since 2002.
